María Wong

María holds a Bachelor of Arts (St. Thomas University), Bachelor of Education (University of New Brunswick), and Master of Arts (York University) and has over 10 years’ experience in various nonprofit settings.

The former Executive Director of Casa – Pueblito in Toronto, María worked with communities locally and globally in project areas including gender equity, health and sanitation, and food and water security. María also taught the International Development Placement Course at York University, a practical course preparing undergraduate students to work in the international development sector. María is deeply committed to sustainable, community-driven programming and is honoured to work with Shanti to improve maternal and infant health throughout Uganda.
