Kerry became a birth worker after she became a mother and started attending births in 1989. Along the way, she has worked as a doula, childbirth educator, community activist and maternal-child nurse. Her family grew to its full blossom of 6 children through biology and adoption. As a midwife attending homebirths, birth centers and hospitals it has cemented her belief that maternal choice and shared decision-making should be the foundation of care. She has been midwife-mentor and clinical preceptor alongside students, nurses and midwives in the United States, Pakistan, New Zealand, China, Rwanda and Uganda. Kerry spent 4 months as a Volunteer Midwife with Shanti in 2017.
