The Problem

Maternal Health is a human rights issue. Every woman has the right to respectful care and to make informed decisions. Unfortunately, this right is not a given in many places – we’re working to change that.

We focus on developing our work in Uganda, to build a model that can work anywhere. Our unique model integrates respectful, holistic, collaborative care into a maternal health approach that can be utilized throughout Uganda. We tackle maternal health challenges at the root and have created a model that is sustainable throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and other regions throughout the world.
  • Uganda has the 2nd highest fertility rate in the world
  • Midwives could prevent up to two thirds of global maternal and newborn deaths
  • 830 women die every day from pregnancy related causes
  • 16 women die every day in Uganda
  • 99 percent of maternal deaths occur in under-resourced countries
