Sister Josephine has been a midwife since 1980 after graduating from Nsambya Nursing and Midwifery School in Kampala.
She has experience working in both the private a public sectors, including 18 years at the district level as a Assistant Maternal Child Health officer where she trained and updated health workers on the newest best practices for maternal care. Josephine is passionate about reducing the rate of maternal and infant death in Uganda, which is why she came to Shanti Uganda as Head Midwife. She has raised eight children, many of whom have been inspired to pursue nursing and midwifery because of their mom.
